Back in Place

With Razia Khan (left) returning from a trip to Calcutta, things have started to fall into place at the Club. We had been witnessing a steady exodus of members since last month, most of them having to attend weddings out of town. Now that the ‘wedding season’ is over (well, almost), they are coming back one by one.
Together with Razia, her ‘other half’ Nafisa Sayyed (they are virtually inseparable) reported for the exercises. Hem Chand Jain (below left) was also spotted -- in a brown safari suit -- after what seemed like ages. He was away for his grandson’s wedding in Delhi and had apparently landed at the Garden straight from the airport!
There’s now only Nahid Khan and Santosh Tyagi left to rejoin. In the latter’s absence, Kishor Babani revived the jokes’ session soon after the exercises. This was another morning ritual we had been missing for long.
Meanwhile, Sunita Jajodia (above, right) came with the news of her son’s first wedding anniversary today. She had brought a boxful of yellow pedas to share her happiness with us. Our blessings and good wishes go to Jatin and his wife, as always.
Amid all the gaiety and celebration, the absence of one person was felt sorely. Najma Sayyad (right) is down badly with a bout of arthritis – such that she cannot even stand on her own. Her neighbor, Khatoon Baig reported that “it is so painful to see her struggle to get to her feet… let alone walk”.
What can we say when we hear of so much suffering… but to only pray for her early recovery?
Srichand Arora:
Najma-ji, we all at the Club pray for you to get well soon and join us in the Garden. May God bless you!
Renu Babani's PICSPEAK:
Our garden, our second home... drawn to it like magnet!
Harish Wadhwa:
* Sunita-ji, kesar-pedas were really yummy. Happy Anniversary to your ladla and bahu. We all pray that they keep celebrating various occasions -- even no occasions(LOL) -- and we keep getting those pedas frequently.
* Najma-ji get well soon. I can understand that it is tough and painful, but try coming so that you can get good, fresh air and some exercise too.
