Sunday Pic

The character in yesterday’s Pic of the Week had to bear the brunt of assorted taunts and jibes from members all morning. Those who had reserved their comments out of politeness and civility came out full blast the moment Srichand Arora and Kishor Babani displayed the photograph on their internet-enabled smartphones (left pic) soon after the exercises.
Many of the ladies went into a collective “hawww”, clearly scandalized by the shameless exposure of legs and tummy. Sushma Gupta wanted to know where those under-clothes had been procured from. Arora said that it was no small “achievement” (see his comments yesterday) for a male to pose like a female while Yusuf Rassiwala interpreted the ladies’ responses as an expression of “jealousy” – though he did not elaborate any further.
By and large, everybody had a good laugh at finding one of their own photographed in that awkward condition. They were either in a state of deliberate suspension of disbelief or else, convinced that the picture was for real. Only Dilip Babani could figure out (and appreciate) that the head had been planted upon the body of a corpulent dwarf, striking a saucy pose.
In all the hullabaloo, nobody had noticed that Pratap Bhatt (right pic) was taking off today to join his daughter’s family Down Under on an extended holiday. Apart from Australia, he would be visiting New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Fiji and Madagascar over the next six months. This would leave his ‘toilet partner’, Bapu Rane to fend for himself from now on... till June 2013.
