Welcome 2013

New dawn. A new beginning. Another fresh start.
On behalf of Big Laaf, the three sisters alongside wish you all the very best in the New Year, and for many years to come. The ladies represent the three traits our Club is known for – high-spirited mischief, abundant happiness and well… a few not-so-fun moments.
But today we had a ball at the Garden – what with all the bear hugs, backslapping and the endless rounds of greetings (pic right). Even strangers walked up to us to exchange pleasantries and wishes. And with Nahid Khan, Santosh Tyagi and Jagmohan Papneja in their elements and cracking jokes, it was laughter-laughter all the way.
Mumtaz Jahan made one of her rare appearances, to meet-and-greet us on the New Year with BIFA Blues. And by way of a double treat, there was Qadeer Bano distributing packets of chips and choco pies on her birthday. Everybody did their own version of the gangnam dance, clapping and singing “Happy Birthday” – just that Srichand Arora made it all the more special for her. He went down on his haunches (bottom pic) and with head lowered, very humbly received his share of the goodies from the lady in style.
If that were not enough, there was Nafisa Sayyed at her mischievous best mimicking every passerby on the walking track while we were busy exercising. On popular demand, she repeated her ‘Unglimaster act’ for the benefit of all those who missed out at the first instance. She started by cocking her head sideways at an angle, putting on a sly look and a goofy grin and slowly waddled up, stomach jutting forward and with arms dangling… suddenly giving Ved Prakash Grover a sharp jab in his stomach! Before the latter could recoil, Shekhawat doubled up holding his tummy and the rest of us joined him at laughing our guts out. Surely, no one can match Nafisa on imitating anyone.
