'Gud Gud Boley' song: Shekhawat is simply unstoppable! |
For once, the exercises were repeatedly interrupted every time Shekhawat had to break into a jig. The culprit was a particular song on Arun Patil’s music box, ‘Meri Pyari Bindu’ (from the 1969 Kishore Kumar-starrer, Padosan), which Shekhawat was obviously hearing for the first time.

Happy Birthday, Dilip Babani |
The mood of the morning being thus set, Dilip Babani’s birthday celebration came as the proverbial icing on the cake after the exercises. He ushered in the big day with a big bag of bourbons as his treat and we all sang together, wishing him many happy returns of the day. The only disappointment was that he disappeared too soon from the scene, apparently having gone to treat other friends in the Garden.
If that was not enough, Harbans Kaur was back (ref post of January 7), making it from her house on an autorickshaw. She came limping, the pain in her knees still bothering her. She said she had made up her mind to go back to Ludhiana in two months (with the onset of summer) and be done with the surgery. Once again, we wished her quick relief, good health and everlasting happiness.
Jagmohan Papneja:
Dilip-bhai, you had a lovely birthday. Sorry, I could not be there and for being late in saying 'Happy Birthday' to you.
Angad Singh:
The song was instantaneously liked by all the members of Big Laaf. Everyone joined the chorus and the session was prolonged. The hilarious laughter might have stressed the over-stressed people who felt happy on shifting to our present location.
