5 Days Left

Members tight-lipped on the identity of the 'mystery man'
The 12th edition of Pehchaan Kaun has turned into a peculiar game of 'wait and watch' (ref post of April 26). Notwithstanding Shekhawat’s appeal to everybody this morning to post their entries earliest, nobody is yet willing to hazard even a wild guess as to the identity of the man in white topi. Barring a counted few, they would rather hold their cards close to their chest till the last moment than inadvertently let the cat out of the bag at this stage. The deadline for the contest runs out on Wednesday -- May 6, 2015.
This has never happened earlier. In all the 11 editions of Pehchaan Kaun so far, entries poured in within 24 hours of the announcement of the contest.
Arun Patil
As speculation mounted, the Garden would witness a wild frenzy with members latching on to every clue, needling one another privately and revising their entries time and again. By the fifth day, a fairly clear idea of the person’s identity would emerge and what remained were the finer details of answering the three lead questions. Even there, everybody went with the flow and eventually, majority opinion prevailed.
To put a check on this herd mentality, details of entries received so far have not been revealed. Still, it can be mentioned that there are three front-runners as of now: Yusuf Rassiwala, Mohar Singh and Ved Prakash Grover. Two names are being orally tossed around: Sitaram Hivarkar and Dilip Babani. Quite clearly, all round-faced men have become prime suspects. But the clinching factor, 'a scar near the ankle', is not being investigated.
In all this comes the news of Arun Patil being hospitalised since yesterday. His right foot is badly infected and had swollen to a point where “more than one litre of pus had to be suctioned out” and sent for tests to Hinduja Hospital. He is at present admitted in DNA Hospital, Kandivali (opposite Mahindra Gate No 2 on the Western Express Highway) awaiting results of the tests.
Arun suffers from a diabetic foot. Let us all pray for him.
Bihari Milwani:
The 12th edition of Pehchhan Kaun was supposed to be very tricky, as an anonymous person has already stated. Refer to comments on post of April 26.
Lt Col Angad Singh (retd):
I wish Arun-ji speedy recovery and a healthy life.
