Ways of World

Kiran Prakash (r) helps Yusuf R
Santosh Tyagi
People who were supposed to come to the Garden today did not turn up. And people who have been absconding for long, made an appearance out of the blue. Such are the ways of the world.
Yusuf Rassiwala came with a specific purpose: to figure out the ‘mystery maiden’ in the latest edition of Pehchaan Kaun (ref post of November 1). As usual, Kiran Prakash obliged with the picture from his smartphone for ready reference. But it was hardly of any help -- except for confusing Yusuf thoroughly. “I cannot believe any of our members could have ever been so beautiful,” he said seriously, convinced that it was the photograph of a young Sharmila Tagore.
Santosh Tyagi too had come with a purpose: to figure out what went wrong with the ladies the day-before-yesterday (see post). She had apparently been tipped by Mumtaz Jahan on phone and today, disregarding doctor’s advice to rest her sprained leg (ref post of November 2) came rushing in to check first hand. Of all the people, she was to ask Mumtaz’s bĂȘte noire, Mallika Kagzi only to get a mouthful from her. (Mumtaz wasn't there today.)

Taken aback, Santosh politely told Mallika to calm down and received another mouthful from her. In the end, Santosh was none the wiser and switched to discussing the weather.
As for the people who were expected today, it was the Choudharys we missed most. Over the past month or so, since the time they joined us for the exercises, this lovely family has become a habit that is steadily growing on us. Every morning we look forward to their arrival – the dutiful and devoted Ajit Choudhary leading the way with his father (who is recovering from a paralytic stroke) around the walking track, often flanked by mother Neelam and charming wife Amreeta… and of course, there’s the enchanting little Akshat, the darling of the lot.
From the way they have been conducting themselves, the sense of discipline and their seriousness towards the exercises it is obvious that this is one family that has set very high standards for themselves. There is a lot we can learn from them. It was therefore in the fitness of things that Srichand Arora today announced the decision of the Club to enlist this wonderful Family of Five as regular members of Big Laaf.
Ajit Choudhary:
I thank all the loving, caring, sincere and respected members of Big Laaf who have accepted us as members of the fun club. We all family members will maintain discipline, sincerity and will be regular. Really, we are all proud and happy to be members.
