Shekhawat announces ROYAL HILLS picnic for February 13, 2016 |
“All the other suggestions I have received so far would involve a travel time of three to four hours each way,” Shekhawat informed. “Maybe, those could be for better picnic spots but what is the point if we have to spend much of the day inside a bus? Royal Hills is barely one hour away. We have been there, done it. And there can be no denying, we had a swell time last year.”
Shekhawat has already spoken to the resort management and negotiated a good ‘group discount’ (ref post of February 1) for the Club. Besides, he sounded impressed by the variety of food offered, the standard of hygiene and cleanliness there and the overall hospitality we got to enjoy. “But more than the venue, it is the sense of sharing and togetherness which matters most,” he pointed out.
As for the date (which happens to be a Saturday), there was some talk of pushing it to Sunday to coincide with Valentine’s Day.

According to some members, we should henceforth designate February 13 as the Club Day and thereby eliminate all confusion over the multiple celebrations we have been having off and on through the year – Annual Day, Foundation Day, Sports Day, Biryani Night and so forth. “We should have just one major celebration on a particular date, rather than two or three half-hearted ones round the year,” insisted Shekhawat.
