State of Ordinariness

In full form: Shekhawat  performs the peacock dance with Razia
As the curtains came down on the International Women’s Day (ref yesterday’s post), the Club was back to its routine with Razia Khan taking charge of the free-hand exercises, followed by Kiran Prakash filling in for Gita Latte during the Chinese exercises. Attendance dropped considerably, but that was to be expected in a state of ordinariness. From Harbans Kaur and Mallika Kagzi to Sitaram Hivarkar, Bijoy Gupta and Mohar Singh, a number of regulars did not show up. Some did though, but kept their distance from the exercises. This is one stupid routine we are also getting used to.
On a happier note, Tara Chand Seth has returned from a family wedding in Udaipur and Yusuf Rassiwala is attending the exercises more often. The best part is Shekhawat fast getting back into form. He reported to the Garden after prolonged illness yesterday and remains seated on a bench for the best part of the exercises. But at critical moments like the 'peacock dance' and ‘rail gaadi’ round, he is up on his feet and displays his zest for unbridled tomfoolery and high jinks. Life goes on at the Garden, uninterrupted.
Lt Col Angad Singh (retd):
It is good that old-timer Tara Chand Seth is back after the wedding season. The hulla bulla of the International Women's Day is over and we are back to enjoying of the 'laafter' event! Healthy sign. Keep it up.
