Dry Party

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHANTI SINGH!
Shanti Singh celebrated her birthday today with choco-bars. It was a treat delayed by a day… but then, Sunday being a holiday, the earliest she could celebrate was this morning. Apart from raising the customary ‘fourth laugh’ after the exercises, we sang and rejoiced with her, wishing her many happy returns of the day.
The low-key celebration was the outcome of a rather unfortunate incident last week. Two highly respectable and senior ex-members from the Club had reportedly complained against us for celebrating birthday parties and littering the Garden.
Petty as this may appear, it was seen to be in retaliation against their
Shekhawat and Razia Khan
being expelled from Big Laaf recently. Even today, the ‘traitorous act’ of the duo was discussed and roundly condemned.
Be that as it may, Razia Khan came up with a new nomenclature for parties. She insists that Shekhawat should now throw a ‘wet party’ to celebrate his arrears received under the ‘One Rank One Pension’ scheme.
“Enough of dry parties!” she exclaimed. “It’s time we had a wet party from Shekhawat. His birthday is also coming up this month.”
Shekhawat is absolute game. But it would help if Razia explains the what, when and where of the ‘wet’ party. In the absence of any clarity, we will have to trust Shekhawat’s understanding on the subject. In his dictionary, wet can mean only one thing… Yes, you guessed it right.
Bihari Milwani:
'Wet party' means that the primary starter is VAT 69!
Lt Col Angad Singh (from Mohali):
Birthday and pension are two different issues. But both are worth celebrating. Celebrations are never too late!
