Picnic Planning

Karun Sharma pays Shekhawat for the picnic
Karun Sharma today became the first member of the Club to put in his share for the picnic slated later this month (ref post of January 31). Shekhawat urged all others present to start paying from tomorrow as it is only upon reaching a ‘critical mass’ of 30 persons would he finalise the picnic plans.
As of now, the date has been changed from February 10 to either February 11 or February 17. Likewise the destination has been changed from Kalyani Village to either Royal Hills or Royal Garden resort. There is no clarity yet on both these key aspects as much would depend upon the ‘group discounts’ negotiated
Nahid Khan
with the resort managements.
According to Shekhawat, the Kalyani Village plans had to be abandoned after some members complained that the resort is way too far and had wanted to opt out. He had therefore to perforce contain himself within “a distance that involves travel time not exceeding two hours”. His options are therefore severely restricted, he explained.
Nahid Khan suggested that for a change we “think beyond resorts” (as most have already been covered by us) and instead explore spots that are closer to nature such as beaches, waterfalls, game sanctuary, etc. “I refuse to go to another resort that has nothing new to offer and pay a bomb for it unnecessarily,” she exclaimed.
Significantly, there are many such nature lovers in the sidelines who echo similar sentiments.
