Brainstorming over the picnic next Monday |
A minor dispute broke out this morning over whether or not to hire an AC bus. In his anxiety to cut costs, Shekhawat suggested going for a non-AC bus as the “weather is quite cool and breezy” at present. The suggestion was eventually struck down as a sizeable majority complained about the “dust factor” and some even threatened to opt out.
This is the last thing Shekhawat would invite because picnics have been cancelled far too often in the last 20 months after members backed out at the last moment. So whatever it takes, he will hold on to the numbers to make this picnic a success. He is also urging everyone to get their friends and family members along and is not even talking about ‘guest charges’.
Meanwhile, demands for ‘window seats’ and ‘behind the driver seat’ have begun in right earnest. Santosh Tyagi wants a low stool at the bus door to help her climb up/ get down the steps. Some are asking for a good music system “to play songs on the way” and then of course, there is the demand for the popular picnic game, Housie. In all, things are shaping up for a rollicking day at Golden Valley resort, next Monday.
Lt Col Angad Singh:
Planning for the picnic is in full swing. Hope everyone enjoys it. It will be a good outing after a long time. Wishing you all a merry time.
Bihari Milwani:
Thank God, there is no demand for a certain colour of the bus!
