Tour Briefing

Preparatory meeting for the tour of Mt Abu and Udaipur
A formal briefing was held this morning for those going on the Mount Abu-Udaipur tour from November 16 to 22, 2018. Altogether 16 people have signed up, of whom eight are members of the club. They include Banoo Apa, Santosh Tyagi, Kiran Prakash, Bhaswati Bose and the two NahidsKhan and Siddiqui.
The group is scheduled to board the Amrapur-Aravali Express this Friday from Bandra Terminus and get off at Abu Road Railway Station the following day. Their return has been booked from Udaipur by the UDZ-BDTS Superfast Express, due to arrive at Bandra Terminus around 2:00 in the afternoon on November 22 (Thursday).
On the cards is a trip to the famous 11th century Dilwara Temples and Nakki Lake in Mount Abu – apart from the usual tourist magnets such as Guru Shikhar, Achalgarh Fort, Brahmakumari Ashram, Sunset Point and the fabled bazaars of Mount Abu.

At Udaipur, the group would be visiting the City Palace and Museum, Fatehsagar Lake, Nehru Garden, Maharana Pratap Smarak, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir, Sahelion Ki Bari and other sight-seeing spots. An evening of boating on the picturesque Lake Pichola is also listed in the itinerary.
In sum, the tour promises a happy diversion from the daily routine of Mumbai life, especially at a time when the weather in those parts of Rajasthan would be neither too hot nor too cold. Nevertheless, at the meeting this morning, members of the group were advised to be suitably equipped with light woolens – not to mention medication, ID proof, etc.
What however, matters most is the prospect of setting out together and bonding over unusual situations and extraordinary circumstances, none of which can be anticipated. If anything, this exposure raises the level of self-esteem and confidence, otherwise lacking in most people of a certain vintage. Their last trip was to the North East, between March 16 and 22 – exactly eight months back.

What has happened to our stalwart, Shekhawat? Without him no tour is complete!
