The amount on the cheque cannot be mentioned here for the moment. Suffice to say it is a substantial step-up from what we had received last year.
This comes as a major relief at a time when the Club is severely strapped for funds – more so, due to rising costs for putting up the show.
Although much of the inputs, including artistes’ expenses are being obtained gratis, there will be bills for erecting a stage, the props, hiring sound and lighting equipment, costumes, make-up, stationery, refreshments, etc.
At the same time, the donation comes with a caveat. We are now committed to staging the function come what may, and there can be no escaping it. It is worse than being made to ride a tiger. Incidentally, the date fixed for the Annual Function is February 23, 2019.

Hurrah! Well begun is half done. Having received a handsome contribution for holding the Annual Day function, it is incumbent upon everyone to work hard and make the event a memorable one.
