Postponed Indefinitely

Debating the possibilities of a Juhu Beach party
In view of the Ayodhya verdict today, our beach party slated for tomorrow evening has been deferred indefinitely by way of abundant caution. The weather has also been quite hostile as it continued to rain this morning.
“The Supreme Court is supposed to deliver its judgment on the Ayodha dispute today,” Siba Prasad Maitra announced after the exercises. “We cannot be certain about the communal situation thereafter. But why take a chance? For reasons of our own security, I feel we ought to postpone the Juhu beach party to another day.”
Shekhawat harped on the uncertain weather conditions and once again (ref previous post) brought up
Lakshmi Hadimani
the issue of rains playing havoc everywhere: “My brother-in-law has 20 mouths to feed and he is totally dependent on the plot of land in our village. All his crops have been destroyed because of the rains. He is crying.”
Everyone agreed that given the circumstances, it would be prudent to wait and watch, rather than rush into fixing a definite date for any party now. After all, this was the second postponement in two weeks. Moreover, this was not a time-bound “job’ we were committed to.
Still, there were suggestions to move the party to the following Sunday, i.e. November 17. But Yusuf Rassiwala (a principal sponsor) would be away at Surat for a family wedding and is expected back not before November 21. Nahid Khan said that she too will be out of town next weekend. A few others were not very certain about their personal engagements.
While we were still debating various possibilities, Lakshmi Hadimani popped up to announce that she wanted to give the Club a big birthday treat next month. “I want this to be a grand party as I shall be turning 50 years on December 10,” she said. “So please tell me one date when it would be convenient for everybody.” Talk about complicating life!

Lt Col Angad Singh (rtd):
It is good that the party has been postponed as a matter of precaution. Many events have been postponed. Good times will certainly come. Meanwhile keep enough space in your tummy to enjoy forthcoming events. At the same time, do not stop laughing -- our basic motto.

It is good that the party to be held on 10 Nov has been postponed as a matter of precaution. There are many events which have been postponed. In fact our club has become famous for postponing events, as a matter of routine. Good time certainly will come. In the meantime keep enough space in tummy to enjoy the forthcoming events. At the same time do not stop laughing - our basic motto
