Weather Change

Bijoy Gupta is not keeping well
The weather turned for the better. It did not rain today and we were back to where we belong, out in the open. In fact, it was quite pleasant this morning with heavy cloud cover and gentle gusts of wind wafting through the Garden. We did not perspire.
If anything, this change of weather raises hopes for the onset of winter, long overdue. By now, shawls and mufflers should have been out, as we have been witnessing every year.
Banoo Apa (l) has hot tea and crunchies for us
Blame it on global warming or whatever, we cannot still be sure of what the climate holds in store for us.
One thing is certain though. With age, we are losing the resilience to withstand the vagaries of nature. Almost everybody in the Club is now suffering from ailments related to “weather change” – mild fever, sore throat, loss of appetite, body ache, fatigue…
Bijoy Gupta is so badly affected that he cannot stand for too long and feels “disoriented” when he tries to walk some distance. Kiran Prakash is also under the weather and rather than take any chances, has wisely chosen to rest at home for a couple of days. Banoo Apa has lately developed a persistent crick below her shoulder… The list goes on.
Yet we are surviving and making merry every morning in ways we know best. Shekhawat continues to give white flowers to all latecomers and Yusuf Rassiwala rewards those on time with toffees and lozenges. Bihari Milwani never misses a birth day/ anniversary and gifts us beautiful hand-crafted mementos. And the irrepressible Banoo Apa always plays music for us and a tasty treat waiting after the exercises.
Today was no different. She had tea and crunchy crackers for us before we dispersed for the day.
