This was precisely the feeling we got when Banoo Apa celebrated the landmark event on a grand scale this morning in the Garden. We rejoiced

She is Banoo Apa to us all

with her, sang for her and raised the fourth laugh in her honour. A record 20-plus members had gathered on the occasion. In all this, we sorely missed the presence of one man: Dr Muhammed Farooq Khan, her better half. He is not keeping well.
Resplendent in a brilliant gold-coloured outfit, Banoo Apa had apparently raided all the sweet shops and bakeries on her way to the Garden from her home in Goregaon. From cupcake to samosas to a variety of pakoras and above all, piping hot home-brewed tea, we were spoilt for choice.

Most significantly, Banoo Apa's personal attention to every person present while juggling between plating and serving made the anniversary treat even more special. She was of course, ably assisted by Karun Sharma, Pushpa Gupta, Bhaswati Bose and Nand Ram in this effort.
As an added bonus, we had Angad Singh today marking his return to the Club with eclairs after nearly a year. He has been travelling quite a bit of late -- from Dubai to Mohali to Bangalore... As regular readers of the blog would know, this army veteran is based in Mohali. But he is family.
The accompanying pictures are an attempt to capture the spirit of the big bash today morning. Once again, we wish the ‘golden couple’, many more years of togetherness and the good life.

Air of festivity hangs over the Garden

It is really pleasing to find Angad Sir joining after a long time gap. He wore the same naughty and hearty smile. The wedding anniversary of Banoo Apa was also a special event and rightly said, we loved the delicious eatables and hospitality. "How deeply you touch another life is how rich your life is". This is true of Banoo Apa.
