Kajal Babani in a hurry to surrender her cap? |
The decision comes close on the heels of objections raised by a section of the Club yesterday on why it must be made compulsory for everyone to purchase new caps. Some members like Razia Khan, Khatoon Baig, Ved Prakash Grover and Sitaram Hivarkar argued that their caps were in perfect condition and there was no need for any replacement.
Significantly, this issue had been settled at the last general body meeting of April 25, 2015 (see post).

But Razia was unrelenting. “It is not a question of having to pay Rs100 for a new cap,” she countered. “My question is why should I be forced to purchase a cap when I do not need one? My cap is in good condition and I am quite happy with it.” Grover and Khatoon echoed similar sentiments, refusing to pay for any new cap.
As things stand now, a token sum of Rs100 will be charged from those who have lost, misplaced or do not have a cap to exchange for a new one. The others would of course, get it for free. Every member shall be entitled to one cap only and subject to availability of stocks, additional caps will be sold at a premium to (partially) offset the expenses borne by the Club on this count.
