The countdown for our Annual Function has begun. Starting today, we are left with exactly 10 days to put things together for the mega event. A dry run

is lined up for January 14 (Sunday), followed by a final rehearsal from start-to finish on January 18 (Thursday). January 19 is a rest day.
Already a schedule of the programme has been drawn up, the stage props and fixtures finalized, duties delegated, permissions obtained from relevant authorities, the technical back-up and other requirements identified. Shekhawat is working on the 'guest list' and making collections for the food boxes to be served after the function on January 20.
Now, only three things remain to be done:

Today, Kiran Prakash should be firming up on the costumes and make-up as well as the sound system.

Acknowledging greetings from friends

As de facto boss of the event, he has taken a lot on his plate and is no doubt, keeping sleepless nights. Bijoy Gupta is the creative director, having conceived and scripted a three-part play. And Banoo Apa, Bhaswati Bose and Kajal Babani are bringing up the rear with song-and-dance numbers and skits. There will also be substantive inputs from well-wishers like Nadira Sayyed, Harish Wadhwa and Rashid Khan who are not members, but have always been associated with all major activities of the Club.
Meanwhile, Dilip Babani celebrated his birthday (see yesterday’s post) this morning with great pomp and ceremony. The accompanying pictures speak for themselves.
