He left the cups and medals in a paper bag, unattended, on a bench and walked away. Nahid Khan very kindly agreed to take them home for safekeeping.

When friends went calling on Razia Khan (in green) to cheer her up |
Razia has a history of kidney-stone formation which led to chronic infection and excruciating pain this time around. The stent was meant to heal the infected parts before the stones can be removed surgically. She will have to undergo endoscopy (and a repetition of other tests) before being hospitalised for surgery – clearly, a long haul ahead.
As of now, the pain has subsided a bit. A visit to her home last evening revealed that Razia has lost a lot of weight and turned so frail and weak that she can barely talk. She is waiting for her kidney infection to heal before going for the endoscopy and in time, another stent. Till then she must observe many restrictions on her food and liquid intake.
Let us all earnestly pray for her recovery and good health.
Lt Col Angad Singh (rtd):
I pray for the good health of Razia. I wish her speedy recovery and early return to the Garden.
Karun Sharma:
Razia-ji, jaldi se fit ho jao. We realise you are having a tough time dealing with the infection.
