Day 375

Darkness at dawn, but eminently pleasant – what with a gentle breeze blowing continually and turning the morning routine all the more enjoyable. It did not drizzle. We completed the exercises without disruption, although everybody was mentally keyed to rushing into the Chinese Hut at the slightest hint of a shower.
Ved Prakash Grover gave us another reason to be happy about. He said he had “fully recovered” from the viral fever which kept him bedridden since Thursday. He managed to do part of the exercises before excusing himself due to weakness. Strong medication had also left him with blisters around his lips.
Another old member to show up (after a fairly long time) was G.R.Garg. For some reason, he appeared to be in a generous mood and declared that he wanted to treat us all to phapda-jalebi tomorrow morning. Nobody knew the ‘because’ and he wasn’t explaining anyway. It is quite possible that he could be pulling a fast one.
However, one ‘celebration’ that has been confirmed would be for Dilip Babani and Geeta Sardana who had correctly identified Srichand Arora from the photograph of his younger days (see yesterday’s post). The two would collect their prizes on Saturday. As it happens to be Raksha Bandhan day also, Geeta said she would tie a rakhi on Arora’s wrist that day. The latter promptly advised her that she was welcome to do so, but must not expect anything in return!
We can expect some major leg-pulling between brother and sister this Saturday.
Says HARISH WADHWA:
Very happy to see Grover-sa'ab, with his usual smile and zeal, back in action this morning. May the Almighty give good health and peace of mind to one and all. That is the only wish I have, when Arora-sa'ab says, "Maang lo Bhagwan se, Aaj uska mood achha hai" while doing the shoulder exercises. Did you notice the two men in bright green in this Saawan ka Mahina? Nice and matching-matching to the mausam!
