Laughter Challenge

Santosh Tyagi and Kishor Babani are up against a challenge. No sooner are they done with narrating their jokes than a smart, bespectacled gentleman starts(left) to unspool a little yarn on some family gaffe, hoping people would laugh. They do. This has been going on for the past few days with the gentleman showing up just as we’d be rounding up our exercises. Clearly, he believes that rather than exercise, he must entertain us – which is actually not such a bad thing. After all, the more the merrier.
The fun part today occurred when Santosh took a dig at Sitaram Hivarkar earlier in the morning. She is not one to normally comment on anybody’s dressing, but today, much to everybody’s surprise she made Sitaram a style icon. She even stepped forward to admire his “light-colour, striped" T-shirt – distinct from the screaming black and peacock green he used to sport -- and remarked that it suited him very well. Significantly, another lady (not a Club member) was also heard complimenting Sitaram for “looking a hero”.
Even funnier was Geeta Sardhana deciding to re-christen Nahid Khan (right) – from Nahid Bhai to Nahidwati. Nahid’s “fault” was to have visited Lucknow recently. She returned with stories of how chief minister Mayawati had transformed Lucknow into a ‘garden city’ with lovely parks and fountains, not to mention, towering statues… Pointing at the direction of the ladies’ toilet, Geeta declared that we too should erect a statue in our Garden and name it “Nahidwati”!
Meanwhile, here’s news for those worried about Harish Wadhwa (left). Having created quite a scare over his health condition last week, he is now breaking bread with the Kazakhs in Kazakhstan. He is there on work. The high fever, shivers and inconclusive medical tests he was complaining about have happily turned out to be all false alarms. We wish him an enjoyable trip and hope to see him on 17th instant – Monday.
Renu Babani:
The turnout was pretty low this morning. Those members who promised to pay for the trip didn't even turn up. Please, this is a request that kindly do give the money at your earliest so that Mr Shekhawat can do the needful for booking the bus, etc.
However, despite the low turnout, the chatter was as usual, and a desperate Mrs Khan was trying hard to keep the silence. Mr Sitaram completely missed one exercise routine due to the constant distractions. However, we are sure not going to change, so I suppose we just take things in our stride. It is all in good fun, right guys?
