Waning Winter

A pleasant start to the day. The sun finally broke through the early morning haze, bathing the Garden in its warm, luminous glow. More than 20 people had turned up, many of them dressed in colourful formals (right pic) to lend a happy, festive-like atmosphere during the exercises. Even Sitaram Hivarkar and Mrs Harbans Singh were there. And with Nahid Khan and Srichand Arora taking turns in the middle, the spirits were bound to be upbeat!
Of course, Bapu Rane looked a little tense as his God was at the crease, facing the Aussies at Sydney. For the life of him, he cannot figure out why Tendulkar has not been able to get that damn 100th century in ten months while lesser mortals have been on a trot. At the end of the exercises, he announced that tomorrow, he’ll be leaving for his village in Sindhudurg to sort things out in his mind. He does not know when he will return.
Before dispersing, Arora reintroduced the subject of monetising the blog for the benefit of those who were not present yesterday. Some fresh queries were raised, and resolved. The drill will be repeated once again tomorrow for a final call to be taken on whether to proceed on this any further. Watch this space!
Harish Wadhwa:
Today the attendance was a little better as more women and some absconding members turned up. Weather was nice, and so was the Chai after the exercises.
