No Relief Yet

All hopes of relief from the summer heat receded when the sun broke through its cloud cover, bathing the Garden in all its blazing intensity. Humidity was however lower than yesterday and a gentle breeze blew across in brief spells. Still, Renu Babani reported unwell and her husband had to rush her home. Likewise, Hem Chand Jain complained of uneasiness and suddenly broke into profuse sweat. Promptly Arun Patil picked him up and drove him home before things got any worse.
Meanwhile, Shekhawat has started collecting money (pic above) for the present to be given on the birthday of Sitaram Hivarkar’s granddaughter, Anaya. Since everyone from the Club has been invited to the party on June 11 (see post of June 5), it was decided to pool in the money and make a common present from the total collection. In all likelihood cash would be given, rather than anything in kind.
