Lull Before a… Tornado?

DEPLETED NUMBERS: We were no more than a dozen today
Thursday dawned on an almost deserted Garden. Attendance had thinned drastically with almost all the stalwarts – from Srichand Arora to Sitaram Hivarkar to Razia Khan and Ram Shankar Shukla missing from action today. Even the Choudhary clan was conspicuous by its absence.
This could well have something to do with winter setting in and people turning too lazy to rise early. Even the sun has turned lazy as it takes longer to rise, though the mornings are not completely dark yet.
But Zarina Khan had a different theory: “Many members deliberately took an off today. Tomorrow watch out, they'd all be present in full strength to receive Shekhawat and his group (back from the South India tour). How can they afford to miss the drama and who knows, there'd be something to eat as well?”
Others echoed her feelings while suggesting that what we witnessed today was the proverbial lull before a storm. “It will be an action-packed morning tomorrow,” predicted Mallika Kagzi. “But I'll miss all the fun because I’ve to go to Surat tomorrow. Let me see…”
Meanwhile, we are told that all is well with Khatoon Baig (ref yesterday’s post) and she is fit enough to fly back today with the rest of the group from Hyderabad. Watch this space tomorrow.
Bihari Milwani:
Today was dull as there was no one to do the roll call. From tomorrow, Shekhawat-ji will start counting the number of ladies and of gents and what the equation is.
