Picnic is on!

Double-checking the 'passenger manifest' for the picnic
With confirmed bookings reaching 20 today, we have finally gathered the critical mass needed for the picnic to Golden Valley Resort on August 13 (ref post of August 6 and 7). Any further booking shall only serve as bonus.
“I will not ask anybody to sign up any more,” said Shekhawat, clearly exasperated from the ordeal of requesting all and sundry to join the picnic. “Should somebody be keen to join now, she or he is welcome. Otherwise we will make do with what we have.”
The news was met with all-round jubilation, the ladies promptly putting their heads together in planning out various recreational activities for the day at the resort.

It seems there is no facility for a ‘rain dance’ but a swimming pool should make up for it.
The games, songs and dancing, etc. would be held in an air-conditioned hall after lunch. “We shall do big dhamaal!” said Bijoy Gupta, visibly the most excited in the group. “I shall prepare myself with songs for all the ‘sweet sixteens’ in the Club. I will do mimicry of Arun Patil and sing a special song for our new member (Anjana Prakash). This is like getting our childhood back.”
One reason for this picnic turning out to be so special is that it comes after nearly two years of waiting. The last we set out was to Saina Resort, in November 2016. Moreover, August 13 being a working day (Monday), we should have the Golden Valley Resort all to ourselves.
But Bihari Milwani already has a problem on his hands. Banoo Apa today took him on his offer in this blog (see his comment on post of August 8) to “sponsor the picnic expenses” of all ladies who come wearing frocks on Monday. “What is wrong with frocks?” quipped Banoo Apa. “We will surely come wearing frocks.”
It is up to Milwani how he interprets this -- as a promise or threat!

Bhaswati Bose:
Milwani-ji, please come prepared with the sponsorship money on Monday morning. Most of us will be wearing frocks.

Lt Col Angad Singh (rtd):
Good, we have crossed the first hurdle of going on the picnic. Some more may follow. Relax and enjoy!

Bihari Milwani:
I have already hedged my liability with Shekhawat-ji and Gupta-ji. For every lady coming in frock, both will pay me the full expenses, i.e. I will get double the amount. More ladies in frocks means more income for me. The more the merrier!!!
