As the popularity of this blog rises with more than 5,300 page hits (through 110 posts), a disturbing development has come to light. Some members seem to be under the mistaken impression that money is being made from Big Laaf. In fact, many are even talking about the money being spirited away by the administrator of this blog to feed his family!
Frankly, this does not come as any surprise. Anybody unfamiliar with the workings of blogs is bound to think this way. Besides, it is unthinkable for many (especially in a city like Mumbai) that anybody would do anything without the motive for monetary gain. That there are little joys of life that can be shared and do not necessarily involve a price tag appears to have escaped them.
This blog is one such platform to share our joys. And it comes free. The technology is available, only that somebody had to make use of it so that everybody is kept abreast with the day-to-day activities of the Club. Ours is a happy Club with happy people. Anybody who is not able to attend (for whatever reason) for a while, must not feel left out. Moreover, we all have family and friends who would like to be part of our happiness – even if it is from a distance. Hence this blog.
Having said that, it is not as though money cannot be made from a blog. The moment that happens, you will all get to know because little advertisements will show up all over these pages. This cannot stay hidden. Many people make big money this way, but that is mostly from technology and trade-related blogs.
Ours is a completely localized, non-commercial, non-monetised blog of interest limited to our members in Lokhandwala and by extension, to their family and friends. Why should anybody advertise here? Even if someone does, it would be a local shopkeeper, an estate agent, pharmacist or investment consultant. We would happily accept their ads and use the money for our picnics and parties… or whatever the members choose. But for all that, we need to wait. It does not happen with a blog that is not even six months old.
If and when money comes in, anybody who wishes to, may take charge of this blog.

I am sure all doubts have now been cleared regarding monetary gains. I had no qualms or concerns regarding this and didn't even think about it. However, for anyone who did, well, at least the air is cleared. With Diwali round the corner, let us keep the festive spirit in our hearts and wish everyone a Happy Diwali and prosperous New Year. May His love and blessings be upon all of us, always.

I don't know how someone has reached this conclusion. Who will agree to publish an ad and pay money on such blogs? The person thinking like this must be a layman on the techology. Please stop thinking like this. And HANSTE RAHIYE JAB TAK HAI DUM MAIN DUM.
