Group Dynamics

We are a funny group. We all like to travel, but do not know how to. We cannot even make up our minds. It is like getting all dressed up and not knowing where to go. And when someone volunteers help, we suddenly become clever and start nitpicking. The end result: Utter confusion. We are back to square one.
The only person who understands this group dynamics is Hari Singh Shekhawat. How he manages to pull off every trip, time and again, has been nothing short of a miracle. But on the Kashmir front, even he has been left foxed (right pic). Together with Kishor Babani, he had worked out a fabulous deal for Rs27,000 (see yesterday’s post) only. Everybody knows it cannot get any better. But still, thanks to some people out to poke holes in his planning, he just cannot make any headway. Effectively, many who have never been to Kashmir and are interested in going, may not be able to avail of this opportunity.
Anybody in Shekhawat’s place would have simply washed his hands of this thankless task. But being a man of incredible patience, he has asked everybody to “think it over” one last time and let him know by tomorrow morning. Rather than altogether abandon the idea, he is trying to accommodate all the divergent views and take the group along with him.
Amidst the confusion over Kashmir, Santosh Tyagi’s jokes’ narration (left) had a calming effect this morning. After a long, long time, she revived this post-exercise ritual in her inimitable deadpan style, much to everybody’s delight. But no sooner was she done than the Kashmir bickering began with renewed gusto!
Renu Babani's PICSPEAK:
* "What shall I do with this group? Can't live with them, or without them..."
* "Relax people, calm down. Everything will happen in good time."
Harish Wadhwa:
Guru Maa Santosh-ji's pravachan of daily jokes is a welcome comeback. Even though some of the jokes are old/ simple, they always sound new and humorous because of the way she narrates them. Their after-effects can be seen on Shekhawat-ji the most, who usually bursts into his impromptu signature laugh and claps.
