Travel Bug

Wonderful morning -- cloudy skies, lush greenery, cool, gentle breeze… and it did not rain. The weather was absolutely divine. Nahid Khan entered the Garden and exclaimed: “Wah, Kashmir is already here! Why should anyone take the trouble of going there?”
Santosh Tyagi promptly reminded her that there is no escape now and exactly one month from today, she would be on the train to Kashmir with the rest of the group. Both Arora and Shekhawat were taken aback when they realized it would be an early morning train and wondered if arranging a pick-up (mini bus, perhaps) at 5.00 a.m. for everybody would be a good idea.
Meanwhile, Monthi Serrao broke the news of a foreign trip being organised by “the other Garden” six months from now. Greece seems to be the favoured destination. Those interested would have to get their travel documents (passport, visa, etc.) in order within six months and that, in all likelihood, the Rotary Club would defray part of the expenses for senior citizens.
On her part, Sushma Gupta informed that she knew of a group going to Cambodia. Many felt that it was in Africa and instantly dismissed the idea. Even after the exact geographical location was explained, nobody showed any interest. “Who wants to go all the way there to see only black-black people?” was the common refrain!
