Monsoon in Mumbai may be deficient this year. But not the grass in the Garden, which, around this time grows wild and reaches knee-high at places. In the absence of proper cropping, we are constantly hard put at finding a suitable corner to exercise. Wading through tall clumps of wet grass every morning does not leave anybody with a happy feeling.
But still, we manage to be happy. Santosh Tyagi revived the post-exercise jokes’ session (in pic) today by narrating a quaint little story of a woman wanting to know if her husband would miss her after her death. Another joke that raised instant guffaws was the one where a man, hiring a rickshaw, is told that there are no extra charges for his luggage. He loads his luggage but himself does not get into the rickshaw – lest he has to pay.
However, the real joke of the day was when Kiran Sajjan (left) once again justified why she is convinced that Santosh Tyagi happens to be the ‘mystery boy’ of yesterday’s post. Many just could not believe their ears when Kiran said: “In earlier days, weren’t chhora-chhoris made to wear knickers?” Santosh’s vehement protestations, “Nahin, main knicker nahin pehenti thi,” fell into deaf ears. By then, Dilip Babani (right) got busy singling out other ladies, one by one, as the probable ‘mystery boy’.
Meanwhile, Mrs Harbans Singh did the unusual thing of turning up late. Ever vigilant, Monthi Serrao announced, “Watch out, halwaa banaa rahi thi!” All ears perked up immediately and as the lady took her position in the circle, the look of hope on every face turned into disappointment.
Fact is, the halwaa Mrs Singh makes is worth killing for!
Harish Wadhwa:
* Halwaa, did I read right? Yes, it is smelling so gooood of ghee and dry fruits. Where is kada prasad Mrs Singh? It has been long since we feasted on some. Baarish mein toh aur bhi tasty lagta hai. Do let me know a day in advance so that I am present with a tiffin box when you make it. Ab toh laana banta hai, Mrs Singh.
* Has Blog Monster revealed the identity of the mystery boy?
