All In Day’s Work

India bashing in cricket reached a new high. Invite to the lecture by a former President of India. An 84-year-old celebrated the wedding of his grandson. Hectic lobbying for elections in the neighboring Garden No 2… It was all in a day’s work.
But first, cricket. Our in-garden cricketing expert, Vijay Jakhia (right pic) has already concluded that India is headed towards another disastrous defeat in the ongoing Test series against England and wants the entire team, including Sachin Tendulkar sacked. He is convinced that the players are only concerned about hoarding money at the expense of the game and are bringing shame to the country. Bapu Rane is in no doubt that they are also into match fixing and the least Tendulkar should do is to follow Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting’s example and retire from the game for good.
There were also handbills distributed for the first time in the run-up to the elections in the adjacent Garden. Harish Wadhwa for one got a mild shock when told of the kind of money at stake in 'managing' the Garden – which probably explains why the elections are so fiercely fought. Meanwhile, Jagmohan Papneja invited everyone to the Mahamana Malaviya Memorial Lecture by former president A.P.J.Abdul Kalam at National College, Bandra on December 9 (Sunday) morning.
However, the most significant highlight of the day were the wonderful luddoos from Vyanjan that Hem Chand Jain distributed (pic above) while announcing the wedding of his grandson. He was a little apologetic as he wanted to treat us to a ‘grand party’ instead. But upon Srichand Arora’s advice, he was made to contain himself to the luddoos. Not that anyone was complaining.
Harish Wadhwa:
Thank you Jain-sahab for your generosity and the yummy sweets. Greetings to the couple, in whose name we celebrated today. But abhi ke liye luddoo kaafee hain. Aap baad mein jab chahen Grand Party de dena. You needn't feel apologetic at all.

Why can't some more people from our Garden fraternity marry in this ongoing season, so that we keep getting the lovely luddoos ?. By the way, I am talking about their grand daughters and sons, just in case some are getting ideas after reading the first line !!. We have only one idea in mind, and that is to treat ourself to more such luddoos.

Looking at the second pic one can say with surity that "Man mein luddoo to auraton ke bhi khoob phoot-te hain". Look at them keeping their eyes focussed on the goodies - box !!
