Cloud of Uncertainty

The Sports Day scheduled for December 22 has come under a cloud of uncertainty. The initial enthusiasm (see post of November 30) has suddenly fizzled out as several members are discovering other engagements on that very day. Many are now suggesting that the date be pushed to January 2013 to suit their convenience.
“But what is the guarantee that others will be free in January?” demanded Srichand Arora, who is himself “doubtful” about making it on December 22 as his children are expected to be in town then. “Nowhere have I seen a date, once fixed, being shifted around like this,” said an agitated Arun Patil (left) who took the trouble of doing a recce of Borivali National Park last week-end. “If some people cannot go, let them not. But don’t deprive others from going. And don't keep changing the date once an executive decision (sic) has been taken.”
In effect, the Club is now divided on whether to have the Sports Day at all. While one section is keen to go ahead (even with a diminished strength), the other wants to abandon the idea altogether. Meanwhile Shekhawat has decided to defer booking the bus, till such time members reach a consensus on the subject. By then, he would have returned from his trip to Rajasthan.
He will be away for five days -- beginning today.

How about like-minded people making a trip to Borivali National Park on 22nd December with no strings attached? Sports/ no sports doesn't matter... just for fun and adventure. Let us social animals meet the wild animals! Guests and interested families/ children welcome. Expenses to be shared after the outing. Return by evening.

I totally agree. Those interested should just go ahead with the trip. This way, there will always be various commitments all the time.
