She’s Back!

Welcome back, Mrs Singh
Monthi Serrao gave us a pleasant surprise this morning. Midway through the exercises, she escorted Harbans Kaur into the Garden, instantly setting off a round of applause. As a mark of respect for a senior member showing up after a long time, the exercises were suspended till the latter took her position and with folded hands, acknowledged everyone’s greeting: “Were it not for Monthi, I couldn’t have made it here today,” she said putting on a brave smile.
Harbans Kaur was obviously in pain. She could barely walk without a limp and as she said later, the problem with her knee was still persisting. “I have tried every treatment possible, but the pain refuses to go,” she agonized. Srichand Arora cited the example of a patient who could derive relief for a similar knee problem from homeopathy. “But you will have to wear the cap all the time,” he cautioned her.
Automatically everybody’s antenna went up! Was Arora being serious? Monthi also looked blank, wondering how wearing a cap on the head could cure the knees. But Harbans Kaur was wiser than us. She understood what Arora meant was knee cap – not the Club topi.
