TRAINING TO HATCH EGGS?

Today, visitors in the Garden were treated to an extraordinary sight. There were not one, not two… but three instructors in the middle our circle, conducting the exercises – Srichand Arora, Siba Prasad Maitra and Mallika Kagzi. At one point, there was even a fourth. Kiran Prakash!
And this was no gimmick or joke. In all seriousness, the instructors coordinated their movements in perfect rhythm, not disrupting the flow of exercises for once, while the rest of us took our cues and responded in complete harmony. It appeared as though our synchronized calisthenics was all rehearsed for effect.

But it was one of those rare occasions when unpreparedness can draw the best out of us. In the end, Maitra got a round of applause for his effort.
It all started with Srichand Arora ticking off Maitra for reporting late every day, by 10 – 15 minutes. The day before yesterday, Arora told Maitra that his punishment would be to stand in the middle should be late again. Yesterday, Maitra was only five minutes late. Today he came on the dot – in fact, before time – but Arora had obviously made up his mind already.
Before starting the free-hand session, he requested Maitra to join him in the middle and simply follow what he did. The idea was clearly to groom another instructor for the future. But Mallika, highly amused at having two instructors in the middle for the first time, decided to be the third. Santosh Tyagi egged her on saying that she too required training. Before long, Kiran Prakash joined the trio – but his was more of a ‘guest appearance’. He did not last beyond a minute.
Meanwhile, news comes in of Razia Khan having undergone a metacarpal surgery yesterday (for a paining thumb) at Millat Hospital. The operation, we are told, was successful, but it had taken unusually long – almost three hours. Unfortunately she is in deeper distress now and her discharge from the hospital had to be delayed by a day. Hopefully, she should be home by this evening. Our good wishes are with her.

Wow, we now have many teachers. We can increase our membership from 50 to 500 and can capture the entire Garden for exercising and making the residents of neighboring buildings healthy by waking them up early. When membership reaches 500, we can have 2 to 4 parties everyday and 25 to 30 picnics a year!!!
Siba Prasad Maitra:
I was dragged as a demonstrator for while. But I was happy to see that with my standing in the middle, Kiran-ji also joined. Ha ha ha...

Mallika Kagzi's presence in the middle speaks of woman empowerment. In fact, our club has more women in attendance and also as instructors. Well done in following the national policy on women's empowerment.

Angad Singh-ji, when you are planning to return? We all are missing you. Try to be back at the earliest. We are planning a grand dinner party in the near future and without your presence, it will not be complete. Do not ask the reason for this grand party. We do not need any reason for that. It is just ainvei.
