Ahead of His Time

Little Master: Akshat conducts laughter exercises
The child, they say, is father of the man. But what would you say of a child -- all of six years and no more than one metre in height -- calling the shots amid people almost twice as tall and over 10 times his age?
Let alone his father, his grandfather and grandmother were to also follow his instructions as he orchestrated the laughter session of the exercises today.
Clearly, Akshat Choudhary is a boy ahead of his time. It is not even a week since he has been accompanying his grandparents and father, Ajit Choudhary to the Garden (ref comments on yesterday’s post)
Anand Manwani: No Ullu Banaoing!
for the exercises and already he has turned bold enough to step in the middle and take charge – an initiative most of us have shied away from.
Akshat talks on  water conservation
Yet, there is something irresistibly endearing about this chubby little lad that instantly evokes a natural feeling of fondness and admiration in everyone. What’s more, Akshat was to give us a little talk on 'Conservation of Water' soon after conducting the exercises.
Mallika Kagzi was so impressed by his homily that she quickly dug into her handbag and fished out two candies for the boy. “I don’t have anything better to give you,” she said. “This is all I have. I wish I had come better prepared.” Akshat accepted the candies, thanking her with a charming smile and grace far beyond his years.
Amid all this, Anand Manwani appeared out of nowhere. It seems he has produced and directed a funny film, Hum Sub Ullu Hain with people like Rakesh Bedi, Sunil Pal, Upasana Singh and Guddi Maruti in the leads. Sadly, it isn’t doing too well at the box-office. So Manwani had come with the hope of selling us some tickets at Rs90 each for a show at Movie Star, Goregaon. What an IDEA, sirjee!
Lt Col Angad Singh (retd) from Mohali:
It is a good sign that a little boy became 'ringmaster' of the old wolves. The confidence shown by him is worth emulating. It is also good that he gave a talk on water conservation, which was heard attentively by all the members. Hope they take note and conserve water.
Ajit Choudhary (on behalf of Akshat):
I thank all the dadajis and dadijis for encouraging and giving me the opportunity to speak on water conservation: Water water all around/ Save every drop that can be found/ Wasting water is not good/ So you never should... Never let your taps run/ Turn off after filling the urn/ Water is great to drink/ So don't let it go down the sink/ Water water everywhere/ Try to save if you care... Thank you.
