Mangal in Jungle?

Shekhawat informs about the deal he has struck with Royal Hills
Picnic plans for Matheran (ref post of January 30) have been dropped as Shekhawat got in touch with Royal Hills resort and firmed up a deal better than what we had negotiated last August. Should this work out, it would be the second time in less than 12 months that we shall be visiting what is essentially a water resort located on the outskirts of Mumbai.
“I’m sure all of you remember how much we enjoyed there last time,” Shekhawat said, summoning everybody after the exercises. “By way of location, travel time, cleanliness, the hospitality and food they gave us, I can’t think of a better place to go.

Why, the moment I called them on phone, they responded taking my name. They still remember me. I took advantage of that and drove a hard bargain. We will pay Rs25 per head less than what we did the last time.”
Many were however, not too pleased. “What is the point of going to the same old place again and again?” argued Bijoy Gupta. “Why can’t we go to Silent Valley Resort at Manor?” asked Geeta Latte. “It is more than seven-eight years since we last went there.” “Why can’t we explore some newer picnic spots?” others chorused. “There are so many good resorts all over Mumbai. What is the hurry in deciding for some place we have already been to?”
The weather being neither too warm nor too chilly in February, Shekhawat is keen that we do not lose much time just planning. “But I leave it to the ladies to decide on the date,” he said, a twinkle in his eyes suggesting that they are incapable of ever reaching a consensus and eventually, he would have to take a call. “So long as the weather is pleasant, what difference does it make where we go?” quipped Zareena Khan, striking a reconciliatory note. “We are capable of making mangal even in the jungle!”
For the moment the talk is to fix the date for February 14, a Sunday. It happens to be Valentine’s Day also.
