Next Hijinks

In search of some action...
We have barely been able to catch our breath after the last picnic on Saturday and already the search for the next high jinks has begun. In the absence of anything fresh, planning for the Rajasthan tour, scheduled two months hence between February 5 and 11, 2017 (ref post of November 7) is being revived.
As things stand, 26 members have signed for the trip. Their rail tickets have been booked, barring that of Siba Prasad Maitra who shall be travelling by air with his wife. Now, Yusuf and Niloufer Rassiwala also want to travel by air (of course, subject to availability) and cancel their rail tickets.
So far so good, just that Santosh Tyagi has started getting the heebie jeebies. She makes no secret of counting heavily on Yusuf R’s company in the train and should he cancel his tickets, she would rather drop out of the trip. “Cancel my tickets also,” she urged this morning. “My head is already spinning. I am getting nervous!”

Santosh has reasons to be anxious as she had been robbed of her valuables at Meerut Station on a Club trip to Vaishno Devi three years back.
In Yusuf R’s absence, Kiran Prakash assured her that there would be many other Club members, including himself, sharing the same compartment with her on the train. "If needed, I will be standing by your berth holding a naked sword to protect you through the journey," he promised her.
But that is hardly reassuring for Santosh, who does not realize that Kanta Sharma is counting on her company and should she cancel her ticket, chances are the latter would also drop out.
Kanta does not know who is counting on her and in that eventuality we could well witness an unstoppable domino effect across the board – all because Yusuf R has taken a sudden fancy to travel by air.
Talk of hijinks and we don’t have to wait too long.
