Repeat announcement for Eid Party this Saturday -- July 8, 2017

Looks like it is no longer a matter of ‘either / or’ so far as hosting an Eid party and a one-day picnic is concerned. With opinion equally divided (ref post of July 4), it could well be both. The general feeling was not to disappoint either section of the Club, now that funds are not a constraint.
Meanwhile, plans are afoot on organizing the Eid party and ensuring maximum participation of members. Once again, Kiran Prakash appealed to everyone to be present on the occasion this Saturday morning

and to also spread the word around so that nobody should get left out. Special mention was made of Lt Col Angad Singh, Kadir Banoo and Manisha Kolhe who are not too regular in the Garden these days.
Dilip Babani dropped by in time for the finalization of the menu. A proposal to include a non-vegetarian dish was struck down when it became clear that nobody in the vicinity would be able to supply any such item fresh in the morning. So we stuck to the old and familiar – an assortment of fries, cakes, sweets and other savories, followed by tea.
Fahmida Khan struck a humorous note for the benefit of those hankering for non-veg. In place of kanda-bhajia, she suggested going for stir-fried spinach. “These days the greens in the market are crawling with worms because of the monsoon,” she informed. “You can have the benefit of both veg and non-veg by paying for one!”
