After the birthday blast yesterday, it was for the Club’s youngest member today to prove that she too is capable of growing up in July. But in the end, with all the song and dance, the joy and revelry, Geeta Latte confirmed that she shall remain the little girl she has always been to us.

Clearly, it was impossible not to be overwhelmed by all the love, blessings and good wishes heaped upon her this morning.
Starting with Kiran Prakash presenting her the Club calendar and Tara Chand Seth giving her a good grandfatherly hug to Bhaswati Bose fondly holding her cheeks and singing to Shanti Singh and Banoo Apa dancing for her and Yusuf Rassiwala blessing her by placing his hand upon her head, Geeta was everybody’s favorite child today.

one, not two, but three birthday songs (one, even in English) while Bijoy Gupta, as expected, interjected with a couple of wacky numbers.
On a sober note though, Karun Sharma recited a poem composed for the occasion and as always, Razia Khan was there with a personal gift for the birthday girl.
There were several other memorable moments as well, some of which are captured in the accompanying pictures. Yusuf Rassiwala summed it up best when he observed aloud that the Club had "never before witnessed a birthday celebration of such warmth and spontaneity”. The only dampener though was Shekhawat complaining of his umbrella getting damaged ("toot gaya") the moment he invited Geeta under it!
