Arora-sah’b (below left) is a happy man. Tonight his grandson is coming from Singapore to spend the year-end with him. It will be an annual reunion of sorts for the family. So Arora-sah’b has taken four days off from the Club, effective tomorrow and thereafter, as he says, he’ll be “in and out”.
Razia Khan (below right) is also happy. She was down with fever and could not stir out of bed for almost a week. Today she turned up nursing a sore throat, but as she says, she feels pretty fit and fine now. Surely, it must have been a relief for her to be able to venture out of home after so many days and conduct the exercises in the Garden.
And then we have our ever so happy-go-lucky Dilip Babani, who looked particularly kicked when addressed as “Bhootnath”. It seems that he has pasted yesterday’s blog pic against his Facebook profile and if it were not for his wife getting into his way, he would have walked into the Garden this morning sporting a bhoot’s mask on his face. Or so he says.
Now, this is what the Sunday pics of this blog are doing. Nobody seems to care much for what is written and posted in the course of the week, but the pictures on Sundays mean a lot. So popular are they that yesterday, the page registered a record 92 hits, whereas on a normal week day, the average number of hits is between 60 and 70. Earlier, when no pics were carried, Sundays used to attract not more than 20 page views.
Ultimately, these are little pleasures of life we draw from one another to stay happy. Santosh-ji had not seen her picture of November 21 till her sister in Switzerland told her about it. Shekhawat-ji has so many pictures in this blog, but everybody reminds him of the one on the hoarding. S.R.Rane has come to be known as “Bapu” after the November 14 picture. Now there is a good chance that Dilip-bhai will be called “Bhootnath” after yesterday’s pic!
Incidentally, those wanting to know the real face behind that image... well, he’s the gentleman in the middle on the picture at the top.

I am delighted to see the club members not just keeping happy themselves, but wanting to see others happy too, as they laugh and giggle each morning. This thread of concern and caring, is what binds us together. These days the blog has also become a topic of discussion each day. Great going Blog Monster!

Post Script: Here's a sporting couple, Mr and Mrs Sushma Gupta (left) who have sent in a photograph on their participation in the SYKZ mini-marathon yesterday. Seems a lot of other members, including Shekhawat-ji, Yusuf-bhai, Nahid Khan, Khatoon Baig and Ramila Mistry also took part. The picture has come in rather late, but deserves publication -- if only to inspire the rest of us to join the run the next time around. Thank you, Sushma-ji.
