No Taking Chances

Braving the blazing sun
The weather turned mildly pleasant this morning. It was quite breezy and with humidity levels falling, there was not much of the gasping and sweating we saw in the past few days. Still, a large number of members were missing – obviously unwilling to take chances in the hot sun. Even Jagmohan Papneja, who rarely misses his daily exercises, was not to be seen for the third day. We hope all is well with him.
In being so hung up with dodging the summer sun, what has gone unnoticed is that we are running out of the caps in stock. The Club has always kept aside a few spare caps with Srichand Arora -- just to take care of exigencies like wear and tear, defects, losses, etc. The funny thing is that from a time these caps were gathering dust we are now hard-pressed at meeting a sudden spurt in demand, particularly from non-members who perceive our blue caps as the smartest and most effective protection from the blazing sun.
Today, Arora had to run up and down home to oblige a particularly persistent lady who wanted two caps, only to have another lady demanding two more caps on the spot. Oddly enough, there was yet another lady who insisted on having a red cap instead of blue. At this rate, Arora would do well opening a retail outlet for caps right outside the Garden gate.

Duniya badal jaye, par topi-baaz nahin badalte -- mauka dekha aur topi pehnai... Just shows how concerned Arora-ji is towards us. He genuinely wants us to wear caps in the scorching sun!
Srichand Arora:
Friends, here is an e-mail reproduced verbatim. Please go through it and suggest:
"Thanks for the concern, Uncle. Right now, all I can say is he is stable. We are just waiting for a date when he can be admitted and the surgery can be done. Hope everything goes well. Needless to say, please pray. My request to all of you: Please get all your check-ups done. Prevention is always better then cure. Listen to your kids and never take slightest warning sign lightly. We kids are occupied in lots of affairs and so its very important that you all share the smallest of details of your health with your kids. A timely visit to the doctor can avoid complications in future. Wishing you all a very healthy and happy life." -- Raghuvir Shekahwat

I meant literally...LOL...

Shows how much concerned Arora-ji has for each one of us. He invested all the money to stock them and genuinely wants people to wear caps to brave the scorching sun.
