“They had eaten so much mutton biryani in Hyderabad that all of them are now down with acute indigestion,” elaborated Mohar Singh.
“What, they haven’t digested the biryani yet!” exclaimed Bijoy Gupta in mock alarm.
Out of the 30-odd who had gone on the South India tour from November 24 to December 3, only five have turned up at the Garden so far – Shekhawat, Nahid Khan, Swati Punjabi, Qadir Bano and Monthi Serrao.
Rakhi Bansi wants to donate her cap |
“Who told them to eat so much biryani?” Mohar Singh wanted to know.
“That is why I always say not to take too much on your plate,” interjected Shekhawat. “Take as much as you can possibly eat and digest.”
Meanwhile, Rakhi Bansi turned up at the end of the exercises with a peculiar problem. Her head has suddenly outgrown her cap and she wanted Srichand Arora to provide a solution. “What can I do?” Arora snapped abruptly, leading her to seek the help of the ladies around. They tried and failed to fit Rakhi’s head into her cap. Exasperated, she turned to Arora and offered to surrender the cap. “You may give it away to whoever you like,” she suggested.
Arora flared up all the more: “You want me to give your used cap to somebody?!?”
Rakhi quickly withdrew her offer, deciding obviously to better do something about her head than the cap!
