Bookings Close

Gearing up for the Rajasthan Tour
Bookings have closed for the 'Rajasthan Tour' (ref post of November 7) next February. Being scheduled within four months of the 'Kerala Tour' (October 13 to 18, 2016), the seven-day trip this time would cover only two cities – Jodhpur and Jaisalmer – and will be undertaken entirely by road and rail.
For once, no air travel is envisaged.
As expected, the composition of the group has exceeded the declared limit of 20 members to touch a figure of 22. A ‘waiting list’ is now being drawn up in the event of last-minute dropouts.
However, according to latest indications, there are no more 3AC/ 2AC reservations available in the train the group will be traveling in to Jodhpur.
That being the situation, what remains now is the rather tricky exercise of ‘pairing people’ for their stay in hotels, which shall be on a twin-sharing basis.
Already, demands are being made for ‘preferred room partners’, leading to hilarious permutations and combinations, given the personal kinks and relationships of individuals.
Happy Birthday Chanda Khadaria

While this is imperative in the interests of harmony within the group, what cannot be ignored is when certain people are much in-demand as room partners while others are left in the cold.
An even more piquant situation arises when someone insists on having a particular member as room partner, little knowing that there is no reciprocity from the other end.
Somebody suggested a draw of lots to resolve this issue. But then, the consequences of ‘sleeping with the enemy’ in strange hotel rooms can well be imagined.
Meanwhile, here's wishing Chanda Khadaria many happy returns of the day. It's her birthday today -- the first since her joining Big Laaf. Sadly, she's gone away to her hometown in Rajasthan, leaving us all high and dry in the Garden. Nevertheless, we wish her the very best on this special day -- good health, lots of happiness and a wonderful future.
