Raising Footfalls

Unfurling the publicity banner for the Thursday programme
The trophies and medals are ready. Permissions have come through. Posters and banners have been put up… Now, all that remains is erecting a stage for the Prize Distribution Ceremony (ref February 28) scheduled on the morning of March 5 (Thursday).
This morning, we were given a ‘first look’ of the banner, before it was put up at the Garden gate. Separately, printed posters announcing the event were pasted at some strategic points, including walls of the garden across the road.
We are also counting on word-of-mouth publicity to ensure maximum footfalls on Thursday. Being a working day – that too, in the morning – we cannot be sure of the public response. But there are many who assure us that the name of Johnny Lever (as chief guest) would be a huge crowd puller.
Needless to mention, his very presence shall be a feather in the cap of Big Laaf. And for the many winners of Sports Day (ref post of February 23), to be receiving a prize from the hands of the veteran comedian (as also the chance to be photographed with him) is more rewarding than any medal or trophy.
Funnily, there is already talk of whether we would be able to better ourselves next year.

Lt Col Angad Singh (rtd):
The winners are already in high spirits knowing that they will receive their prizes from the most reputed comedian of the film industry. The daily visitors to the Garden are also happy to spend some time with the celebrity.
