Between Hari Singh Shekhawat and Kishor Babani, the trip to Goa has been finalized for March 23 – 26, 2012. Together they have firmed up on the itinerary, booked the airline tickets for all and made reservations for three nights in a well-appointed hotel overlooking Calangute Beach. With as many as 17 members having signed up, this promises to be a extra-ordinarily exciting trip – packed with action, adventure and surprises.
Since there’s still a month-and-half to go (50 days to be exact), it is quite likely that some more members would join the group – even if they’d have to make it by road or rail. On a conservative estimate, the Goa group should swell to 25 – which is a healthy count, considering that this is
the first long-distance trip being undertaken by the Club on such a big scale… all thanks to Kishor and Shekhawat.
Simultaneously, plans for a short, one-day trip to a nearby resort some time this month are also being kept alive. The date fixed (tentative) was February 11 and three options were thrown up – Nirmal Resort, Tikuji-ni-wadi and Suraj Water Park – only to be abandoned later. Shekhawat today reminded Harish Wadhwa for details on Manori Beach Resort so that he can take a final call.
Meanwhile, those worried about Khatoon Baig (right), here’s the latest. The lady, a chronic asthma patient for the past 10 years, had suddenly developed chest congestion last week. In her misplaced determination to maintain her record as the 'most regular and punctual member' of the Club, she had ignored the ill-effects of an unusual drop in morning temperatures. She is presently on antibiotics and has been strictly forbidden from stepping out of home before 9.00 a.m. Here’s wishing her a speedy recovery.
Renu Babani's PICSPEAK:
* So, what's on the agenda today, let's hear it!
* Hey don't I look fit and fine?
Bhaswati Bose:
Get well soon, Khatoon-ji. Moral of story: It's more important to be 'healthy and wise' than 'regular and punctual'. So all lazy members need not feel guilty. Maaroing phunti is good for health!
