Exercising in the China Hut |
But it was a false threat. Neither did it rain again nor has the monsoon set in yet. What we are experiencing these days are sporadic showers, more in the nature of cloudbursts, lasting for a few minutes.

Still, it did help getting accustomed to exercising in the claustrophobic confines of the China Hut. Luckily, there were not many of us this morning and we could get to stretch our arms and move around without bumping into one another.
Playing the numbers game |
Karuna Waghmare showed up after a long break, as usual with a story to tell. Today it was about a stool that broke her leg. She corrected that to falling off a stool and hurting herself. Soon she corrected herself again, saying that a stupid stool fell on her foot, causing her intense pain. This sounded credible and a reason enough for taking the long break, as well as sitting it out through the exercises today.
Meanwhile, Kiran Prakash came up with an amusing ‘party game’, getting together those hanging around after the exercises. It had something to do with counting by turns and getting eliminated on a slip-up. From a small group of five, the participants grew to nearly a dozen with several non-members like Vasudev Batheja and Laxmi Hadimani joining in.
It was a welcome departure from the usual gossip and jokes’ sessions we were having out in the open after the exercises.

The heat has suddenly become unbearable. One feels very tired on venturing out after sunrise. One must take lots of liquids in order to stay healthy and hydrated.
