Exercising in the open: But what makes them all hold their ears?

immobile till last week (ref post of June 30).
From the way Shekhawat fooled around today, taking digs at all and sundry without provocation, even Yusuf Rassiwala could not help remarking, “Wah, you seem to have got back your voice so soon!” At one point, Shekhawat playfully plonked himself by the side of a burly lady and began singing a romantic ditty sotto voce, till Siba Prasad Maitra caught him out!
With 'normalcy' restored in the Club, the exercises have turned increasingly lively and entertaining. The continued absence of Arun Patil (he is busy with a film shoot somewhere) has also helped in no small measure. That apart, the weather gods smiled upon us and we got the chance to also exercise in the open for a change.
The highlight of the morning though was Bijoy Gupta and Shekhawat going head to head, ribbing one another for no apparent reason. They are the best of pals, but would never admit to it in front of us. It is only the kind of liberties they keep taking with each other that gives their game away. Who else would dare to call Gupta “Goodhari ka Laal!” (whatever that means) or for Shekhawat to be warned not to ever set his eyes on a woman, or else, “you will fall ill again”!
But then, no offence is meant. And surely, none is taken.

Godhari ka Laal means 'pearl in an old cloth'. Indeed, Mr Bijoy Gupta is a hidden treasure with phenomenal talent that is yet to be discovered fully by the Big Laaf club. The more you try, more talent will be found.
