No Dates!

Efforts to break the deadlock. Santosh is at the far end, facing the camera
Our plan to stage an out-and-out comedy for the club's Annual Function on December 16 (Sunday) has hit a roadblock as Santosh Tyagi cannot give us any date right now. She has an important wedding in the family to attend in Dehradun and her flight ticket is booked for December 15.
Santosh was the lead actress in the skit we had put up at the Annual Function last year.
Advancing the date of the function by a week, i.e. to December 9, the previous Sunday will not help as Nahid Khan, another star actress, also has her diary full. The son of her best friend, Laxmi Hadimani is getting married on that day at Panchghani.
This has put our scriptwriter, Bijoy Gupta in a major fix. He has created a meaty role for each of these artistes in his play and he will have to now either revise his script or else, replace Santosh -- and/or Nahid also.
Santosh understands the problem, but insists she is unable to change her travel plans at this point. She is however game for playing any role, any day, any time, provided of course, the date of the Annual Function is advanced.
Last heard, Kiran Prakash is exploring the possibility of having the event at an earlier date and perhaps, mid-week rather than on a Sunday. That way, Gupta would be saved the agony of having to rewrite his script and we would have the benefit of watching two stellar actresses pit their histrionic skills against each other.
