Saturdays are special days. Unlike weekdays when everybody rushes home after the exercises to catch up with their daily grind, the week-end tends to be relatively relaxed and easygoing. Many even hang around with friends for an extra hour or so, as though to celebrate a well-earned breather.
Today was no different. But what deserves mention is the increasing patronage Badmaash Company is receiving, particularly from the ladies of the Club. Renu and Kajal Babani, Santosh Tyagi, Bhaswati Bose and Ramila Mistry seem to have now reserved their Saturday mornings for the chai session with the regulars (pic below). They have even identified the tree trunk (in the background) around which they gather as “Wisdom Tree” – if only to suggest how good sense prevails among the men in female company. So instead of the usual round of risqué jokes, the men remained silent today and settled for the cream wafers courtesy Renu Babani. It is another matter that this break from the routine resembled the interrupted growth of the Wisdom Tree and the jokes’ sessions would happily resume from Monday sans female company.
The cause for concern however, lay elsewhere. For once Harish Wadhwa looked off-colour this morning and soon after having tea, threw up. Apparently, he had been pushing himself too hard with a punishing schedule at work. Having returned from Goa late last night, he showed up this morning completely pooped… and then he’d have to rush to office within an hour. Here’s advising him to switch off his phones and take complete rest on Sunday. His body needs it more than himself.
Renu Babani's PIC SPEAK:
* "Kindly stand in line for the morning drill!"
* "Chai et al... Badmaash Company has done it again! More members seem to enjoy this morning session."
Harish Wadhwa:
Well, I am fine now and did attend office as usual for the full day. Hopefully I will recharge my batteries during Sunday, to be up and kicking on Monday morning.
(Kicking?!! Does he expect to be frog-marched into the Garden on Monday morning? --Big Laaf)
